DBIO Recommended Practices - Auditor
Function: The auditor examines and verifies the books of the Treasurer for the Annual Financial Statement.
Qualifications: The Auditor must NOT be a current or incoming officer of the Association or of any Chapter or Division. See also: Appendix A – Qualifications, Expenses, Records and Reporting for Executive Board, Advisory Board/Council and Committees.
Appointments: The term of appointment is one year, renewable annually. The Treasurer and Chair in consultation will appoint an Auditor in conformity with the current Association guidelines.
Duties: The Auditor must:- Verify opening balance with previous closing balance.
- Verify all arithmetical computations.
- Verify bank balances.
- Verify all checks written and outstanding.
- Sign with the Treasurer, the Annual Financial Report.
- Review the Auditor section of the Recommended Practices annually in February. Submit corrections, revisions, etc. to the Director for inclusion in the next revision.
